Technical Measures to Improve the Survival Rate of Clonal Superior Tea Seedlings in Cultivation
Mangshi’s tea plantation area totals 152,000 mu, of which 21,000 mu are planted with clonal superior varieties, accounting for 13.8% of the total tea‑growing area. This places Mangshi among the tea regions in the province with a relatively low rate of varietal improvement. Compared with planting seedling‑grown tea, cultivating clonal superior varieties requires distinct cultivation and management practices; improper planting or inadequate care can adversely affect survival and establishment rates. Therefore, when promoting the adoption of clonal superior tea varieties, it is essential to implement specific technical measures that help enhance both survival and establishment rates. 1. Ensure high-quality land preparation: level and refine the planting site, use straight lines on flat ground to mark and dig planting furrows, and on sloping terrain create contour terraces to establish planting trenches. Maintain a wide row spacing of 1…

How to Get Young People to Love Drinking Tea
Editor’s Note: Approximately 60 countries and regions worldwide produce tea, with a total tea‑cultivation area of 65.55 million mu. Over 160 countries and territories have a tradition of drinking tea, and 150 nations rely on tea imports. In China, tea is grown in more than 900 counties across 20 provinces, employing over 80 million people and supporting more than 70,000 tea‑production and processing enterprises. Over the past decade, the compound annual growth rate of tea output value has exceeded 22%, far outpacing other industries. One quarter of China’s population drinks tea, with per capita consumption standing at 1.2 kilograms; however, consumers are predominantly aged 35 and older, and the majority are male. As times evolve, younger generations are increasingly becoming the driving force behind market demand.

The fragrance of Yunhong tea is renowned throughout the world.
Mangshi Ecological Tea Co., Ltd. left the reporter with an impression somewhat reminiscent of the saying, “Good wine needs no bush”: when the reporter arrived, it took several loops through narrow alleyways and a stretch of bumpy, unfinished road before finally locating the company. Yet once inside the premises, the scene was striking: lawns, verdant trees, vibrant flowers, and a fountain all adorned the grounds, creating a beautifully landscaped, clean, and orderly environment. The production and residential areas were clearly separated, arranged with meticulous precision—almost like a carefully crafted park. “Our facility is a garden‑style complex built to export‑food standards,” said Li Minglian, the company’s chairman, with evident pride. “Do you still export your tea?” the reporter asked.
