Pu'er tea (also known as “Dianqing tea”) and Dianhong are well-known teas in Yunnan Province. The raw materials of both are produced from Yunnan large-leaf tea; the soup color of Pu'er tea is brown and red Bright, the soup color of Dian black tea is red and bright after brewing. Pu'er tea and Dian black tea have a small difference in the soup color. Therefore, many beginners often mistake Pu'er tea for Dian black tea. In fact, there is an essential difference between Pu'er tea and Yunnan black tea.

The specific differences between Pu'er tea and Dianhong are as follows:

   One. Different types of tea

Pu'er tea belongs to the dark tea category. Pu'er tea is a post-fermented tea, so the older it is, the better. Dianhong belongs to the black tea category, and Dianhong is a fully fermented tea, so the new tea is good.

  Second, process difference

Pu'er tea uses Yunnan large-leaf sun-dried green tea, which is piled (fermented), dried, sieved, sorted, and blended into a finished tea; Dianhong is first withered, twisted or cut, fermented, and baked And other processes make finished tea. In terms of production process, Yunnan black tea is first fermented tea, and the fermentation stops after production; while Pu'er tea is post-fermented tea, which will be naturally fermented during storage, even if it is artificially fermented ripe tea, it will continue to ferment. Therefore, Pu'er tea is divided into raw tea and ripe tea, while Yunnan black tea does not.

   Three, different shapes

Pu'er tea has two types: Pu'er loose tea and Pu'er pressed tea. The shape of Pu'er loose tea is sturdy and tight, heavy and firm, and the color is brown or brown; while Pu'er loose tea is made by autoclave of Pu'er loose tea, and the shapes mainly include cakes, bricks, tuo and so on.

Dianhong mainly includes Gongfu Dianhong and broken black tea. Gongfudian infrared shape is mainly striped, and some are curled. Its color is dark and golden. The shape of broken black tea is fine granular and dark in color, which can be processed into tea bags.

  Four, different tastes

Pu'er tea has a mellow taste and unique aging fragrance; while Dianhong has a mellow, fresh taste and a sweet fragrance. One is Chenxiang and the other is sweet. The two are easier to distinguish.
